How many sub-out's are there on the 990? Each of my current fronts has a powered sub in them.. looking to move them to my backs and upgrading..but that would leave me with 4 powered subs...2 at back needing a different delay then the fronts...

Any thoughts?

There is a single subwoofer trim and distance control, although there are two separate unbalanced outputs and one balanced output (which could be handy for folks using pro amps to drive passive subs or the folks using a Behringer Feedback Destroyer).

Just some thoughts off the top of my head... I'm not sure how your particular speakers are set up, but some people use the speaker level signal from the amp to drive speakers with powered subs, in which case you could simply set your surrounds to large (or to small with a 40Hz crossover, since many powered subs in speakers could still use a little help with the really low stuff) and use the two sub outputs to feed the front subs. Or you could get two Y-adapters and drive all four subs from those two outputs, and experiment with the phase setting on the subs' amps to see if the single distance setting works for you - it's very possible that it would.

Another option would be for you to split the pre-amp output for each channel with a built in powered sub so that the delays for that sub match that of the speaker.

Thanks gonk and Scott... now I only have to wait for my name to pop up for an available unit (plus either the 7100 or 770) and I am good to go! Anyone know what it will cost me to have the 990 and the 770 brought into Canada? A little worried what our corrupt liberal government will tack on the cost when it comes through customs...
