You will get extremely unsatisfactory results if you do this.

To use the signal coming off a phonograph cartridge you need tons o' gain and special, extreme equalization - these functions are provided by a phono preamp the output of which you can connect to an Aux input.

But if you connect the ttable directly to the Aux input, the sound will be tinny and wimpy.
