60W isn't a lot to drive Paradigm Reference speakers. I've got Studio/60's, a Studio/CC, and a mix of Studio/ADP and Axiom M3ti surrounds in a 23'x17' room, and my feeling is that they are happiest with 100W or more of power. Not to say that 60W per channel won't work - I drove the 60's, CC, and ADP's with a Model 1050 receiver (65W per channel) for probably six months (before I added a Model 750 amp with 165W per channel) and was pretty pleased with the results - but if your budget allows, I might suggest exploring some alternatives that would give you a bit more power. If you buy an Outlaw amp at the same time you buy the 990, you can take advantage of their package pricing - the 7100 (100Wx7) would end up costing $800 and the 755 (200Wx5) would cost $1200. Also, I'm not very familiar with the
ELAN amp - it looks like it is more intended for home distributed audio (which tends to involve small in-wall and in-ceiling speakers), which makes me wonder if it is well suited to driving speakers such as your Paradigms. Some others around here may know more about it, though - it could be capable of more than I'm giving it credit for.
