I am having an issue where my LF and LR rear speakers are playing intermittently. All other speakers are playing as normal. I have had the system setup and playing with no issues for several years. I have tried switching sources and surround modes and still have the issue. I have checked the speaker connections and have "reset" the receiver per the instructions in the owner’s manual and still have the problem. Sometimes all speakers play and sometimes the LF and LR do not.

perhaps you might try swapping in your surrounds or another pair of speakers you might own in to isolate the problem? Rare as having issues with two speakers at once may seem, I had this happen once.

I also lost my LF and LR channels this week. I've had my receiver now since '02 and never a problem before. Can someone tell me what's causing the loss of audio? I too have tried different sources and nothing fixes the problem. I did notice, however, that the Power-on relay clicked prior to losing audio. In fact, the click heard when you first power up the system was clicking radomly when the receiver was already powered up (this has been happening for months but I thought it was my TV set). I'm interested in knowing what other's have found once they took their 1050's in for repairs. Thanks smile

I spoke to Scott at Outlaw regarding this issue and he seems to think that its due to a faulty output relay, an $80 repair.

Mike

My buddy told me yesterday his 1050 has just started to do this...he says if he taps the top it comes back on for a bit but then goes off...$80 for the part??? Would he get it from the Outlaws or can the part be picked up elsewhere or does it need to go to the Mothership???
Thanks,
Bill

I think the $80 is for parts and service - not just the parts in question.

I have this exact same problem. LF and LR go out after the 1050 has been on for a bit. Tapping the top brings them back.

Has anyone figured out a way to fix this without sending it in?

Thanks, Ian

I think I may have this issue also. Just sent in the support request. I only have three speakers hooked up right now, FR, FL and center. Just before the speaker goes out I hear a click which sounds like the click you hear when you put the unit in standby or power on from standby. After a while it clicks again and the speaker starts working again.

Has anyone had this repair done? How was the result?

To me, this issue sounds like you have a short with your speaker cable. Tapping the unit moves it enough to stop the short from sending the unit into protection, which is why it clicks off. I would try reconnecting all of your speaker connections and then seeing if you have the same problem. Even a little strand of wire touching the wrong connection can cause a short.

I know this is not the same solution as above but you may want to try it first as to rule out all options before sending it back. Good luck!
