Where would you rate these cables? More like a cardas cable or more like a Kimber cable?

I don't have any experience with either Cardas or Kimber, but I would have to say that they seem very neutral to my ears (although my experience with "high-end" cables is spotty).

Mellow and glossy, with the slightest hint of fruity oak.

A hint of smokiness, perhaps?

I'll be frank here. All this stuff about cables having a "sound" is complete nonsense...

-- I think there was a bit of sarcasm in Matthew's post (and charlie's, for that matter). I've been wrong before, though.

("Smoky" and electronics don't usually mix well -- as my electronics professor liked to say, once you let the smoke out, you can't put it back.)

Don't be scared off by these guys, sometimes they go 'belly up to the bar' for recreation.
(They're playing/messing with each other)!

I plan on purchasing these with the rest of my order, because they appear well-constructed, can't help you with the sound till I get my order.

A Brit, eh? I had been kind of wondering what "ukexpat" stood for. I guess "Nigel" should have given it away, though.

When I was very young, I had a general thought that Brit. humor was, restrained, refined, very dry wit, in a Dickinson sort of way. Until BENNY HILL and MONTY PYTHON. (The Brits. can dish the lowbrow slapstick with the best of em!.) “A Scratch? Your arms off!
Seriously, Good Neighbors, To the Manor Born, Some of my favorite stuff for serials, when it finally imported here, Love that BBC!
(expat? ex patriot? your in the colonies now?

UK Expatriate, not ex-patriot. I am still a patriot, just not living in the UK anymore. If anyone's really interested you can find my bio at: http://www.smr-group.co.uk/pond.html

Dear Nigel,

Ops, beg pardon! Comes from that wonderful place in my head, entitled, “Dicks-sha-nar-ee”
Never would imply other than, “That there’s some corner of a foreign field That is for ever England.”!
