ICBM amp pop noise

I installed my ICBM between my Yamaha 2095 (as a pre/pro) and my Parasound 2205 power amp. Running 5 channel HT plus a sub from the mono sub out. I have a power strip plugged into the switched outlet on the receiver, and the 12v trigger for the amp and the ICBM plugged into the switched power strip.
When I turn the receiver off, the 12v trigger powers down the amp in apbut 20 seconds. However, the ICBM shut down immediately, causing a power pop in all the speakers.
How can I avoid this effect?
Thanks.

dose the yamaha have a 12v trigger that will turn somthing on and off? if it dose you could hook the icmb up to it and then it should turn off after the reciver. mabye.

No 12v trigger on the Yamaha. That's why I'm using the switched outlet on the Yamaha for both the ICBM and the amp. The amp does have a 12v trigger, so a signal from a generic 12v DC source plugged into the receiver's switched outlet does fine. The ICBM does not have a 12v trigger, so a even if the Yamaha had a 12v trigger output, the ICBM would not have a place to receive it.
Thanks for the thoughts, though.

What about leaving the ICBM on all the time? It's doesn't use all that much power, and being on shouldn't hurt it any. ------------------ gonk -- Saloon Links | Pre/Pro Comparison Chart

Yeah, I had thought of that, and will likely do that, absent any other solutions from folks here.
Thanks.

Another thought -- is your switched power strip adjustable such that you could change the "power off" delay on the amp? I've got a similar setup, with a Panamax that delays turning the amps on until 10 seconds after everything else and turns the amps off right when the receiver goes off (other equipment turns off a few seconds later). If you can't do something similar, I think your plan to just leave the ICBM on would work very well. EDIT: oops -- mis-read your first post, I see that your amp is waiting 20 seconds to power off when the receiver goes off. If that delay is fixed in the amp (can't be set to 0) or if there is another reason to leave the delay at 20 seconds, I'd just go with leaving the ICBM no. ------------------ gonk -- Saloon Links | Pre/Pro Comparison Chart [This message has been edited by gonk (edited March 29, 2002).]

You could use a much larger power supply for the ICBM(Same Voltage) with large cap's that will keep the ICBM on longer after power is cut.

The ICBM is an "always on" device, and should not be turned on or off between use. However, the turn on thump you are experiencing will not harm your equipment. While it may not have been that expensive to add a "muting" circuit, such circuitry is detrimental to the integrity of the audio signal.
