Is there any advantage to be had in putting tip toes (those metal things that come to a point) under the 770? Alternatively, any advantage to isolation material? Or do I just put the sucker on my equipment rack and crank it up?

IMO-- put it on your equipment rack (making sure it can support the weight!), check for adequate ventilation and let 'er rip.
