Woo hoo! I'm the first to post in a new forum! That's the main reason I'm posting, just to be number one.

Now that that's out of the way, I see a forum here but no product info. Vox says it's a new five channel amp. This true? I think a good two channel may have been a better product, to supplement the 750 already in use for those migrating to the the new 950 pre/pro. Anyone have ideas as to why another five channel? I was under the impression the 750 is already a solid performer.

Anyway, hope to see something soon!

So rare I get to answer my own questions here. As I was posting, guess what arrived in my email inbox... the March newsletter! In their own words,

"...some may ask why we are introducing a five channel amplifier at a time when many home theater enthusiasts are moving to six and seven channel systems. The answer comes to us daily in the continued sales of the Model 750, and from the inquiries we receive from consumers. With both the 755 and the 770 available, we leave the choice of a five or seven channel configuration up to you. The Model 755, as the Model 750 before it, will also find a home in systems where the Model 1050 is used as a preamp, but where higher amplifier power is required. In addition, a surprising number of customers tell us they have been using the Model 750 for a variety of non-traditional applications such as bi-amping, multi-room systems and other creative situations. With more power, the Model 755 is a worthy successor to the Model 750."

They also post the specs (200 watts per channel at 8 ohms, 300 at 4) and promise to have pics and such up within twenty four hours.

We probably should have guessed what it was w/ the 750 being out of stock and it being announced a couple weeks ago.

The 750 was still in stock last I heard (1050 was out of stock, but appears to be back). Interesting item of note -- the 750 is no longer on the order page.

Edit: OK, so maybe reading the newsletter would have been a good idea. 750 had gone out of stock. (Funny that the speculation about the 1050 being out of stock might be due to a new receiver, while it was actually the 750 that got replaced!)
