well, I am almost ashamed to say it, but I am just now deciding to do the update on my 950. I finally am getting the 6th and 7th speakers and amps...WHOOP! One question though...

Can I do the install of the new chip? I am an electrical engineer and build and troubleshoot computers and other electrical devices on a daily basis! I am not asking to be reimbursed for my time, just can I do it without voiding my warranty!!!

I'm just a materials scientist, and I didn't have any problems.

If you've ever done any work inside a PC, more or less the same exact thing. Outlaw's instructions are *very* good and help a lot.

Very easy upgrade. If you've ever opened a computer this is about as easy as things get. Clear instructions and lots of diagrams.

I must have stayed away from the forum for too long since I'm just now hearing of the update

Is there anything in the update beyond the LFE fix for DTS?

Do all pre-March 2003 units benefit from the fix?
