I received my 950/7100 combo in May. It had the same problem you are describing. I called Scott and after being unable to fix the problem, Outlaw shipped me a 950 replacement which arrived within a couple of days. New unit does not "pop". If the "pop" was a normal part of the 950, I would have exercised the 30 day return. Another kudo for Outlaw customer support.
