The BFD's also pretty shallow, so it likely didn't block any of the vent openings on the top of the 950. I've got things pushed as far as I can with my DVD player on top of my 950 (it's deep enough to just start to overlap the vents, which is hardly a good thing), and when I pull my CD changer out to make room for a DVD recorder later this year I plan to shift things around to get the DVD player onto a different shelf.

You know, you see a lot of pictures from trade shows and expos and such with a manufacturer's pre/pro sitting right on top of their giant amp, and they tend to look pretty slick that way - but I wouldn't want to actually use any of them without making some breathing room for the amp first. Maybe when digital switching amps arrive one day and heat rejection from power amps becomes a lot less of an issue, it will be possible to operate them that way without burning things up!
