I am very interested in upgrading my present HK 300 receiver to the 950/7100. I have Klipsch KLF 20 fronts/C7 center/RS7 surrounds/no subwoofer. Does anyone have experience with Outlaw and Klipsch together and was it good? Would like to know before I dive in.

I think you might want to consider an amp like the Parasound if you went with a 950 pre-amp.

The 950 is already pretty "revealing" and with those brittle high (IMHO) Klipsch horns you're askin' for trouble, pardner!

Parasound amps are warmer and more laid back. You might get a better balance of sound.

I have a 1050 with Klipsch RB 5s, RC 3 center & KSW 12 sub.

It sounds awsome to me (& not too bright)

Also obviously depends on your room too. Lot's of hard surfaces (hardwood floors, sliding glass doors), vs soft (carpetting, curtains over the sliding glass doors ).

I had not thought about the 1050. Does your awesome comment apply to both music and home theater? What other receivers did you use before the 1050. Do you believe you are giving up anything by using the 1050 instead of the 950/7100? Besides saving money.

I have Klipsch KLF30's for my mains, KSC-C1 for center and SB2's for surrounds. I have a Parasound 2 ch amp for the mains and a B&K 3 ch amp for center/surrounds. I must say that the 950 sounds excellent in my setup. I previously had a Yamaha receiver, which was a poor match with Klipsch.
