It appears that I have missed the boat for the 1050. I truly regret this however, are there any plans for a replacement for the 1050?

At the moment I cant afford 1.5k for the 950/7100 like I would like.

As you have discovered, the 1050 was discontinued last fall. A new Outlaw receiver (the Model 1070) is in development and is expected around the end of this year.

Any idea what the retail price will be? I imagine that they haven't released this info yet.

I hope that it will be priced similarly to the 1050 and have similar features.

There's a good bit of information in this thread . It will be priced closer to the $1000 mark than the 1050 was (the 1050 originally sold for $600, although they reduced the price by $100 about a year after it was released). This is to accommodate a pretty healty assortment of additions (component and DVI video switching, for example).

If you really want a 1050 (love mine!) there is usually one for sale on the used market at ebay or Audiogon, typically in the $300 range. With the new 1070 upcoming, there will most likely be some 1050s appearing on those sites as owners upgrade. I will be keeping my 1050 for the forseeable future as I too operate with limited funds, and because great sound never becomes obsolete!

I keep looking for a used 1050 but one hasn't popped up on Audiogen or on Ebay in the little bit that I have been looking.

Just doing a search on Audiogen for Outlaw and I think you will find MORE WANT ads than SELLING ads ROFL. I think that speaks VERY loudly for this company.

Also side note, is it just me or is the 1070 a damn sexy piece of audio EQ? Its like porn for geeks.

As long as it sounds great the cosmetics don't matter that much. My gear is behind sliding glass doors and not well lit. The only piece that sticks out is my Pioneer 563a DVD/SACD/DVD-A player because it's silver. If you must gaze lovingly at a piece of audio gear, then I guess the 1070 would win many beauty contests!
