This may be more of a Denon question, but I'll ask here anyway.

I use my Denon DVD-3800 dvd player as my primary source component.
I have it hooked up 3 ways to my 950:
coaxial out -> coaxial 1
FR & FL -> cd input
FR2, FL2 and the other 5.1 outputs -> 5.1 input

When I listen to the cd input on my 950 (using bypass or stereo mode), I get very little bass.

Listening to either Coaxial 1 or the 5.1 inputs produces a lot more bass (~ 5-8dbs).

My 950 is set up w/ small speakers all around and an 80Hz x-over all around. I also have the analog bypass switch flipped to "off" as the Denon has internal bass management on its multi-channel output.

I've tried changing the dvd-player's speaker config (setting all speakers to Large in the DVD-player), but the bass discrepancy is the same.

Anyone have any idea what's going on? Not a biggie, but it just has me scratching my head a little.

Nevermind, must've been my ears playing tricks on me.

Took out my test tones and played 100Hz tone vs 71Hz tone.

SPL showed only a 1db variation in the 71Hz tone across the 3 input types when I adjusted the volume controls to play the 100Hz tone at 80dbs.
