I was swapping out sub woofer on my 1050. I unplugged the sub cable at the sub and carelessy dropped it on the floor. The outer edge of the RCA conector contacted the metal base of a floor lamp, there was an ugly pop and an electrical arc. Now I'm not getting any signal to the sub. The 1050 was off, first thing I checked, why would there be an electrical arc when the amp was most definately off? I'm wondering if the amp is damaged. Any thoughts?

I can't honestly remember if I unplugged the power to the sub first or not. Lets say I didn't for argument sake, would that somehow cause this sort of problem?

Got it. The arc tripped the circuit breaker, works just fine now. Still wondering why the thing arced to begin with

Not sure if this could be it, but I would check to see that the lamp base is properly grounded. It sounds like there might be voltage there.
