My 1050 has developed a loud cracking sound in the left main speaker shortly after turning the unit on. It doesn't happen always and the intensity of the sound varies. Is this an indication that my 1050 is dieing? I recently had it returned, to repair a sudden drop in volume in the left surround channel. It cost me a total of $100 CAD to have this done (under warranty); for shipping and brokerage fees. My warranty expires in a few weeks. I really don't relish sending it down again. At this point I'm quite disappointed in the quality of the build of my unit. I've had recievers that lasted for a decade or more before they developed problems. I love the sound of the 1050 and being so user friendly.
Am I worrying about nothing as to the new development in the start up cracking sound?

My 1050 has always made a small popping sound in my speakers on start-up. Its just never been loud enough to cause any concern. I don't use my remote that much so my head ends up near my left front speaker on start-up. That's the only reason why I can hear the pop. Other than that, my 1050, knock on wood or something like that, has been great.

The sound I'm hearing is far more than the usual soft pop on startup. One time the sound was so loud that I thought a rock had hit a window in the room. I have resorted to leaving the amp on 24/7 for now.
