Well I just ordered a 950, another M200, and a pair of 1.2 meter PCA Cables. Can the sale of my 1050 be far behind? Film at eleven.

congrats...so nice to have shipments (rubs hands) to look forward to. I have another amp and some interconnects coming. Not as fun as getting the 950 in. Let us know how setup goes!

and please excuse .... if i got silly somewhere...i just turned in my ... retirement request thing last week ...and got to celebratin a little hard late at nite. i'm in an earlier time zone...with a week ta go. and then i'm sellin the house and movin...away from the city! 3 & 1/2 hours away! and i've been workin since i was 11...1960...now whut am i gonna do?
and so it goes:
'his pangs the Bard refus'd to own,
tho' half he wish'd Clarinda knew
but anguish wrung the unweeting groan-
Who blames what frantic Pain must do?'

Well, according to the UPS Web Site my 950, and M-200 are less than 20 miles away. Since I have to come to the office to get them the question is, do I spend the whole day just looking at my new toys, or leave early? I mean I only get here at 9:30 AM, and UPS gets here at the same time. It would be hard to call in sick, and then show up to collect my goodies. What's a guy to do?

You can lift one of the boxes and tell them you've hurt your back and have to go home. This has the benefit of having them help you load them into your car!

This seems to be an appropriate place to ask this questions..

Which method of shipping is "safer"? DHL or UPS? I'm wondering because in a week or so I'll be ordering 130 or so lbs from Outlaw

They both seem equally capable of dropping your boxes

Seriously, when you get your shipment, look at the corners of the boxes for any crushed areas. If anything is damaged, contact Outlaw and the delivery carrier.

Yeah.... I'm thinking that they'll be heavy enough so that no one will really pick them up by hand... probably at the worst they'd have a hand truck rammed underneath the box and have other stuff stacked on top....

Actually, my amp was delivered to my community's main office by DHL when I was at work (they failed to deliver in the 24 hour period). The office employee told me when I picked it up after work that the DHL guy just "chucked it into the corner and it made a really big boom." That was rather unsettling. Once I got everything hooked up, my system had a real nasty hum. I finally found that it was a ground loop (VCR ---> 950), but it still made me frustrated. However, I haven't had a problem with the amp.

As for the packing, Outlaw really does pack the Amp very solidly. The Amp was double boxed . . . the 950 wasn't. But both are quite secure in my opinion.

Thigg, just saw this post of yours tonight. Did you see my late reply posted to Death BSW? He’s healed, (say that like a televangelists does, -sounds better )

“please excuse .... if i got silly somewhere” not at all, and you must be feeling very unanchored retiring from a routine you’ve had for years and years. And (selling a house etc?) that is a lot to have going on!

You can resell your 1050 or buy used high quality components at AUDIOGON www.audiogon.com . I bought a Parasound amp to go with my 950 there.

Well, the toys are unpacked and in the rack. The 1050 is packed in its original box, and packing material. I hope to finish the cabling tonight, basic setup and calibration tomorrow night, and fine tuning on Saturday. The fly in the ointment is that I promised to re-grip some golfclubs for a friend by tomorrow night. I hate it when I do that.
