This may be a silly question, but have you tried learning the additional buttons from the Sony remote to the 950 remote? Assuming you have the remote for the Sony changer, you should be able to learn any of the commands from it to the 950's remote (including the keypad numbers and any other keys needed to access specific discs, specific tracks, program tracks, random play, ....).
