This, or the 325 could be A great alternative to the 950. Both have sub control yo 40 hz as well as being very flexible. Check it out

If this one or the 525 could do Logic 7 on 5.1 sources, then H/K wouldn't be able to make enough of them.

I believe that any bass management on the 5.1 analog inputs is digital (and hence worse quality) than the analog the 950 has.

Too the best of my knowledge, the only HK receiver that can do logic 7 for 5.1 is the AVR8000.

That link took me to a receiver that puts out 7 channels @ 50 watts per.....

Apparently (and yes, it's about time), standard DVD-A digital interfaces will be available soon!

The pristine sound of DVD-A and SACD is in digital form at their source.

When the digital interface becomes commonly used in future pre/pro's and receivers and even DVD-A/SACD players, the overwhelming majority of DVD-A and SACDs will be bass managed digitally.

Will- You are of course correct , but when that bass management is indeed performed in the digital domain as you mention, it will hopefully be done in each format's native format *without* an extra A-D and D-A conversion as say the Anthem and the new H/K receiver must do now.

Fly Guy- There is a hope that the new 7200 (available sometime early next year) will have it too.

Isn't there any place for being polite and having a modicum of understanding of what propriety is anymore?

The posting re H/K clearly shows the H/K NOT to be an alternative - but is a forum put up for discussion of the 950 by Outlaw REALLY the place for people to come in and start parading other goods?

I would think this could be done on HTF etc. and show a lot more consideration.

If I were marketing a product worldwide, I'd probably want to know how potential customers thought it compared to other products. Actually, don't some companies pay the big bucks to get that kind of market intelligence?
