Two of the three RCA inputs blew on my 1050!

Video 1 and Video 2 don't work anymore. Only Video 3 is working. I am so pissed off about this. No surges at all. Nothing else is blown on the 1050, just these two parts. I had to move the TV from Video 1 to Video 3 to confirm it was not the TV that broke.

I also moved the VCR from Video 2 to Video 3 to test that as well.

Do I just need to contact Outlaw and ship it back to them? Will they actually repair mine or send me a new one?

Those that have had warranty work done, how long is the turn around time?

Thanks for the info... it still sounds awesome... just silent in two video inputs...

Give Outlaw a call in the morning at 866-688-5292. They may give you the option of either sending yours in for repair or getting a replacement. Either way, they'll get you fixed up in no time.

As disconcerting as it is, I suspect all brands have failures of one kind or another (I was behind a guy at Ultimate Electronics last Saturday who said the RCA connections on his Bo$e system pulled right out of the back panel when he disconnected it), but we hear about the Outlaw problems only because of this forum. My bet is the Outlaw problems are fewer (or no greater) than problems across all brands. Any statistics?

I had my 1050 replaced when I first got it. Turn around time was 7 days to Ohio.

I called Tech Support Friday from work and told them the problem with the 1050. He told me to check and see if the Opt1 and Opt2 were turned on. I had not pressed any buttons and neither did anyone else.

When I got home, sure enough each Video Input also had the Opt selected. I turned it off and replugged everything back into the Video 1 and Video 2 and tried it again... IT WORKS!

I don't have any idea how this could have turned on all by itself. I don't even use the Outlaw remote and never touch the 1050 at all. I use my Pronto remote, the 1050 remote is in a drawer that is never opened.

Very, very strange...

No, no animals in the house at all. No little kids either... don't have a clue as to how this could have occured.

Very strange, but I will look out for this in the future. Just happy that the 1050 is still perfect.

Probably something is programmed into the Pronto that also will control this. Or maybe the Outlaw protocol is not quite right in the remote.

It might just be a microprocessor glitch. You know, the same one that causes a PC to freeze up for no apparent reason. I was having a similar situation with my 950, just ramdonly would go to "Main Menu" or adjust the volume for me when it felt like it. I had to reboot the microprocessor to get it to knock it off. Not sure if the 1050 can be reset, but if it can this may be your action if it happens too many more times.

I believe that the 1050 can be reset in much the same way as the 950 -- a button beneath the volume knob. I've never reset either one, but I have seen references to the reset button in that location on both units.
