Im about to purchase my first Outlaw product. I've been a "cheap" Audiophile for years; Outlaws direct model is a welcome surprise...

I am setting up a system in my master bedroom (~20x30) and master bath. My wife isn't very warm on the idea on floor speakers in that room. In-walls are almost a must. The Polk RC85's seem to be a good balance of quality and price. My questions are:

1) Any other in wall speakers you might recommend on addition to the Polks?

2) I dont think 6.1 is really necessary in the room. Should I consider setting it up as a standard 5.1? Does 5.1 work well on the 1050?

3) I want to run 2 additional mains to the bathroom for some good wakeup music. Any reason why I shouldn’t run a speaker switch box off the 1050 to give me the additional flexibility. I would like to run both the bedroom speakers and bath speakers simultaneously (probably never taxing the system, just news/weather etc under low volumes)

Any pearls of wisdom are appreciated...

In addition to Polk, I'd toss out Paradigm, B&W, and Atlantic Technology as possibilities. Boston Acoustics also makes some. Here are a couple of threads that might come in handy: Dane's in-wall speaker discussion ; Mikehdtv's system

Depending in your future plans, you might consider either doing 5.1 now with a layout that would allow 7.1 later or doing 7.1 now. As large a space as it is, 6.1/7.1 could be nice to have. 5.1 does work well on the 1050; there have been a few problem DVD's: the original three EX flag discs -- Jurassic Park III, Pearl Harbor, and Atlantis -- and more recently Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The only disc that really poses a problem for the 1050 is Chamber of Secrets, as its flag forces the 6.1 processing to engage (last I heard, there's been no word yet on a fix, but Outlaw's aware of it and has been pursuing it); the others will work fine if the sixth speaker is listed as "on" but the 6.1 Surround mode is left off.

I think a switchbox to a second pair of speakers would be no problem. If you will be using both at once, you may want to look for 8ohm speakers I think (I could be wrong about that even, though, as it's been pretty crazy around here for the last week or so), but that's about it.
