I'm a moron.
I want to hear my TV audio thru the 1050.
I've connected the var. outs from the set to both the aux. and then video 3 audio inputs. How come I don't hear the audio?
I can however listen through the Vid. 1 (vcr) input. Just feeling challenged.

Well, if you're coming out of your TV's variable out and into your 1050's Video3 in, you should be able to select Video3 on the 1050 and hear sound coming from your TV. If it were me, I'd come out of the TV with a line level audio out and use the 1050 to adjust volume. However, your TV may not offer this option. Your only audio out just might be variable; in which case I'd turn the TV's volume all the way up and then leave it alone, using the 1050 to control volume afterwards. So the question is, are you sure you have the TV's volume control turned all the way up?

You are basically correct however I would not recommend turning the variable t.v output to FULL, This could and probably will over drive the preamp of the T.V and possibly send a poor distorted signal through the vari-outs to the 1050, Video 3 in's. I would suggest the the variable outs bet set no higher than 2/3rds. to 3/4 qtrs. and then just adjust the volume of the 1050 to get the right volume.

That helped. Turns out I misunderstood the TV manual and used the wrong output. All is good now.

Or better yet, Leave the TV on the Video input fed from the surround processor and use the VCR for your tuner.
