I'm probably making some stupid mistake, but I can't get any sound in bypass mode. I've tried connecting three different players to the analog inputs on the 950 (Toshiba 9100 DVD player, Sony CD changer, and a Malata DVD-N996). I've gone through all the settings I can find on each player to insure that it was producing analog output. When I hit the BYPASS button on the 950's remote, all I get is silence (not even hiss :-). The front panel on the 950 says BYPASS ANALOG, but nothing makes it to the 770 and speakers. I tried setting the input setting in the menu to analog, but that didn't help.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks.

If you indeed have the _analog_ output of your CD player connected to, say the CD input of the 950, _and you have the input selector on the 950 to "CD"_, and hit the bypass, there should be sound. You might also check that in the "input config" menu, the CD input is associated with the "analog" setting, but this should not matter in the "bypass" mode.

I figured it out. I didn't understand how the 6 channel analog inputs were supposed to be selected.

Oh, yes, there are two different ways to bypass:
1. Connect analog out from CD player to 6.1 in and select it with the "6.1" button.
2. COnnect analog out from CD to any 2 ch input, and select it by selecting that input and pressing "bypass."

Both provide a completely analog path through the 950 with no A/D/A. Both provide an LPF with the DSP. The 6.1 also provides an analog HPF.
