OK, need some help:

Need a 950 getting my amp in a few days and need a source. I have a second room I plan to setup.

So, is there a decent reciever I could use as a pre/pro for now until I get a 950 then move it to a second room??? Best reciever around $500 in your humble opinion.

Or what other pre/pro is avail for 1000 bucks as good as the 950????

Wow, for around $500 bucks, you might just look at any good Japanese unit from Yamaha, Sony, Denon or Pioneer. I would go with the one that has the least gimmicky sound effect settings like "club", "disco", "church" etc., and concentrate on one that is more "Just the facts, Madam" In the 1 Kilobuck range, the 950 is just about all there is out there at this point, but I am very sure that this will rapidly change as more manufacturers start using the new chipsets on the market now.

Or you could consider that, according to the Outlaws, the 950 is now shipping from inventory and there is no longer a waiting list.
