I have my digital cable box hooked to my 1050 by its coax output. When listening to the music channels, which are dolby 2.0, the 1050 only gives me two set-up choices. Plain stereo or pro-logic. Why cant I use some of my DSP modes too?

I think the DSP modes (Natural, etc...) work only with analog stereo inputs (or PCM digital, since both end up in the same form as far as the 1050's DSP engine is concerned), whereas you are getting a Dolby Digital bitstream.
