Here is my hookup (as per Gonk):
1) S-Video from cable box to 1050 S-Video 2 In
2) S-Video from 1050 S-Video Monitor Out to TV
3) S-Video from 1050 S-Video 1 Out to DVD S-Video In
4) S-Video from DVD S-Video Out to 1050 S-Video 1 In

I get no picture from either TV (Video-2) or DVD (Video-1). Sound is fine.

What am I doing wrong???

I dont get connection #3. My 1050 has (4) s-viedo inputs. (1) output. By the way, the first 1050 I got the s-video moniter out was broken.

Have you used the S-video connection to your television previously? (like straight from the DVD in to the TV)

I hate to suggest something so simple, but, do you need to tell the TV that it is supposed to use the S-video input? On my TV, I have to hit the input switch. This was a major challenge to my wife.

I have a DVD Recorder/Player and I use the S-Video Out to Record TV on my DVD. Same as one would with a VCR.
