This is my first post here but I have been religiously checking this board daily since Feb. That also happens to be when I reserved my 950, and yes I am getting frustrated. Mainly because my Pioneer Elite VSX-24TX is on its last leg and I am anxious to upgrade to separates. Anyway enough rambling, my question is this, "is the 950 designed to receive software updates?"

The 950 is not software (firmware) upgradeable.

Are we 100% sure of that? I know that the software is stored on an e-prom chip, which means it could be swapped out. I also know that Outlaw did not seem eager to make use of that capability if they could avoid it. Have we heard for sure that an e-prom chip software upgrade is out of the question?

Maybe when Outlaw realizes that both Anthem and B&K are charging good bucks for upgrades that include chip changeout and re-flashing, they might change their mind about future ephrom/chip upgrades?

I would imagine that they'd only use it if there were some major software flaw discovered down the road, after a large user base had been installed. It doesn't sound like something they'd use to add DTS 96/24 or the like.
