Hello, waitlisters? Who else has read the following in the newsletter and smiled: Barring any problems along the way, we are comfortable with an estimate that the first units will ship during the third week in March.

Sounds good as long as they can meet that date. I have been thinking I would have my unit by the second week in March based on there last newsletter. I have waited this long so what is a couple of more weeks. Even in 3 weeks, there still won't be another preamp that can match the 950 in price vs. performance.

Woo Hoo!!
As a very short time waiter and whiner, I was happy to get the newsletter. I am even more convinced of the decision to go Outlaw. Hopefully those of you to receive your units will let the rest know about the performance.
Who will be the first to make a side by side specification comparison between the 950 and its closest competitors?
What is up with the clones. Is there some sort of licencing agreement with the overseas manufacturer? Am I straight that Outlaw designed the 950, and is manufacturing it in Korea via Eastech? Eastech is selling to other companies? What is the story? Is there a thread somewhare that explains this?

Then again, perhaps the extreme extra-terrestrial intelligence of those conspiratorial beings from outer space might be able to shed some logic on the argument that spending over $2,000 is the same as spending $899. Here on Planet Earth, there is a difference of $1,101 between those two numbers. (Obviously more for those who go for the higher priced spread, less for those who purchase something more modest.) Our cowboy hats are off to people who have the means that allow them to spend that kind of money on home theater products. However, for many of us that $1,101 or so is a LOT of money, and we suspect that for some it will be the difference between being able to buy a high performance separate component and not. Our goal is to satisfy those who can afford the higher priced products with something that is the sonic equal of more expensive products, while opening the world of quality home theater to those who might not otherwise be able to afford it. Well said.

Well, I was kinda hoping it would ship in February, but at least now we have a semi-firm date. And, it's not too far away... at least it's THIS month. And, I must say, I'm happy to see those pricing options. I had been counting on spending $2700; now it seems I'm going to have a choice of $2100 or $2500 depending on how many channels I opt for...
