I need help. Please let me say that so far I, well my wife, my son and I are definitely enjoying my new toy. However I ran into a little problem and here it goes. At the moment I do not have a dedicated DVD player. I am asame to say that for the last few years I have been using my PC as a DVD player. I moved my computer to the basement and have now been forced to use my son’s PS2 as a DVD. The problem, when a movie loads the 1050 defaults to Dolby Pro Logic, when I hit the surround mode button it will not change to D Digital 5.1. Am I doing something wrong? Oh and I am going out the PS2 digital just so you guys know. Please help.

You need to also select the correct digital input on the 1050. Once that is done, make sure the DVD player is configured to send the DD/DTS data stream and you should get 5.1 in all its' glory. Have fun.

Also on the PS2 you need to turn on DD and DTS they are not defaulted on.
1. Put in a dvd. Press the "select" button to show control panel.
2. Select "set-up" button using directional buttons then press the "X" button. (It's the suitcase looking thing)
3 Scroll through until you get to "audio set-up" select with the "X" button.
4. Scroll down until you see "digital out" make sure it is ON.
5. Scroll to DD and DTS and make sure they are ON.
6. In order to save you must eject the dvd before powering off or hit reset.
