Of course as soon as it is released I will be complaining about waiting for the 770. There is just no pleasing some people! ------------------ Stott

The chart -- the idea was to compare specs and performance. I agree that the sentence isn't clear, I was trying to make clear that the chart only tells have of the story. I also agree that the sense I get is that the 950 is going to meet and exceed Outlaw's goals for it. (Edit -- I tweaked the wording. Just can't leave well enough alone.) ------------------ Gonk[This message has been edited by gonk (edited January 23, 2002).]

I have an idea for a system setup. Connect the 950 to active speakers (I'm looking at Paradigm's Reference Active speakers, which have been discontinued, yet which still are in dealers' showrooms). You save a ton of money by not getting the amp, and most manufacturers acknowledge that active speakers sound better than passive. Just a thought.

There is no way that 5/7 amps are cheaper than one, such as an Outlaw Model 750/770 for example. If the powered speakers are cheaper than the equivalent amp/speaker combo then corners were cut. If you really like this idea you might check out ACI, another internet only outlaw. http://www.audioc.com/ They has a powered speaker line. The only major sonic advantages come with bi-amp or tri-amp using active crossovers and multiple amps. Linkwitz has some good info. http://www.linkwitzlab.com/speakers.htm
