I will probably answer my own question, but lets ask.
I currently have a Yamaha YST-SW160 that I bought back in 2002. I used it for a while in my family room, then disconnected it (I can't remember why). I remember enjoying it.
I am ready to buy the 990/7500 combo. Is it worth it to add the LFM-1 as part of the combo for only an additional $399 (a savings of $180 from the base price)? or try out the YST-SW160 in the new basement (It is a large open room).
I am guessing the YST won't work that well, but the LFM-1 by it self or in combo with the YST will work great.

I'm thinking the same type of thing. The 990/7125 is $1900 and with the LFM1 its $2300. I think for $400 it's a real bargin. I need a sub, but can't spend $700 for the HSU VTF3. The VTF2 is $500 and has a small woofer and less amp than the Outlaw LFM1.

I wouldn't hesitate to add it especialy at that price, and it would be a huge improvement over the yamaha, which an 8" 150 watts if I read correctly.

Let us know how it all works out. I'm probably going to go with the 990/7125/LFM-1 combo.

Everything came in last week. I slowly put it together this weekend. It looks like the LFM-1 was damaged at the factory. There was a 3/4" dent in the lower-rear-center of the unit, like it was rear-ended by a pole. The back and bottom were split apart. Steve is shipping a new one out this week and I will ship this one back. It is going to take a while to get it calibrated (Work is driving me crazy), so maybe next week I can give a better report. Here is a thread with a picture of the rack: Outlaw Thread: 990/7500 Amperage Usage
