When did the LFM-1 actually start shipping and what are the details of the woofer and electronics? I was looking at getting an Hsu STF-3 or VTF-3 to upgrade from an STF-2 but then heard of this Outlaw sub that Hsu apparently consulted on.
Is Hsu manufacturing the woofer and building this sub as an OEM for Outlaw, and how does it stack up in terms of an STF-3?

I forget when the LFM-1 started shipping, but I think it was early in 2004. I got mine about a year ago. Dr. Hsu was involved in the design. The LFM-1 and STF-3 have the same -2dB point of 25Hz and may even be using the same driver, but I think the LFM-1 has a different amp (325W instead of the STF-3's 300W).
Has anyone compared the LFM-1 to V/STF-3 or TN1220 on music and can comment on the performance? I'm sure they all make a big bada boom, but my previous TN1220 was a very musical sub blending in very well to a set of hifi monitors, and I would like to match that performance rather than a dB here or there.
Also, it looks like being in MA I get tagged a bit more on Outlaw with the sales tax. Is outlaw still direct internet sale only, or are there other online dealers or retailers like Hsu has had in the past.

I actually found out about AV123 through Outlaw's old connection with them, but I don't think Outlaw has ever sold anything but their own gear. Here is a little blast from the past for us old timers and a history lesson for all you deputy gunslingers.

Keta, thanks. Behold the power of archive.org. I love that site. And just to clarify, Outlaw has always been internet direct, they just used other internet direct companies to sell their products also.
