...okay, I am sure this is something I am doing wrong...I am brand new to "beyond stereo!" I followed the directions as far as I can tell, rear of LFM-1 lights up and turns green...no sound from the sub. I have the 950/7100/LFM-1 combo and have not yet hooked up the center or rear surrounds...just the front mains and the sub...mains sound fine, everything looks right (to me) but still no sound from the Sub...any ideas? Thanks, Bill

When I check the fronts and center with the noise generator, I get noise to the mains and nothing to the sub...checked connections and they appear to be right... Bill

alright, I am in Stereo so this is probably why nothing more than the mains are on...I hit 6.1 button and the mains went silent as well...what am I doing wrong? Sorry, but I am REALLY green. Bill

you need to configure the 950 to know that a subwoofer is attached. speaker configuration is what it should be called. make sure the sub is set to on or whatever it needs to set to (dont have a 950). just connecting it doesnt let the 950 know to send sound its way. that should do the trick. oh and you could read the manual... it is somewhere within speaker configurations though.

agreed, read the manual a couple more times then it all makes sense.
who really takes time to do that?
read the speaker configuration section.
a few months down the road you might read the book again and find another little trick!

The channel calibration test tones do not pass through the crossover, so testing the mains would not send anything to the sub. The subwoofer test tone, of course, is a different matter, and should yield sound. Try the following, just to cover all the bases. - Verify connections (power to sub, interconnect from 950 to sub) - this looks to have been done
- Verify settings on back of LFM-1: adjust volume to at least 5, set power switch to either "auto" or "on", and I'd probably switch the crossover control to "bypass."
- Go to "Speaker Config" menu in 950 and verify that the speakers are set to "small" and the sub is set to "on"
- Go to "Channel Calibration" menu in 950 and try the subwoofer test tone. Be sure the master volume is set to 0 dB first, and I'd recommend putting the 950 on an empty input since 0 dB can be loud and you'll be listening to the active input before and after going into the menu.
If all of the following is done and you don't get a tone from the sub, let us know.

Thanks all...yes I DID read the manual/RTFM It cycles through the test tones for left, right, then sub...nuthin' from the sub...Mains set to small, I will try turning the master volume up to 0dB...I had been up about 40 hours straight and thought I would take a few hours of sleep before attempting further...also, the Sub took a hit on one side during shipping...probably nothing...Outlaws pack well but it made it though to put just a little indent in the cabinet. Thanks, I'll let you know. Bill
