Or keep it and add a LFM-1 as an additional sub?

I would not say it was routine, but not unusual to mix brands of subs. I have a M&K V-1250 as part of the 750THX system and am considering it myself. Should have no effect on the quality of bass just how it is transmitted throughout the room. Totally different animal than mixing your front three which should be very close if not identical. With multi-subs often have better balanced ouptut response as the result of levellng out some nulls and peaks.

[This message has been edited by DaleB (edited November 30, 2003).] Dale, I just placed an order for the 750THX system with the V-1250 for a friend of mine. I'm not a THX guy but my dealer told me that the V-1250 rolls of at 35 Hz which, I guess, is the THX spec. He's recommending a second sub for the content below 35 Hz. Have you noticed this roll off? Thanks.

I think it depends a lot on the type of recording you like to listen to. If you are into pipe organs, you might be served with a sub that would go lower. I am not aware of the exact cutoff of the V1250.that is to say I've never measured it..best way is to listen with different recordings, and see if something like the 350 would be better. I believe you can 'break up' the 750THX system, like use different surrounds, or a swap out the sub. For now the 1250 in my environment does a very credible job. The impact for HT is excellent and for music, well it is deep and musical. Of course, even going lower might be nice at times, but until you have something to compare it with, I doubt you will think you are missing anything for a good 90% of the listening you do. I don't think adding the LFM-1 is going to do much for 'going lower' esp. not for the MX-350. But if you are adding a sub for more even room response in a large listening area, or splitting each for a different appliation, like LFE, etc. as curegeorg does, then that's another ballgame. it looks like the answer to that question is no. since tb says its subsonic, unless you have a big room you should stick with the one you have. naturally a salesman in a high end store is going to sell you more stuff based on the theory that more is better. he probably told you what you got is wonderful, then once you bought it, by the way, blah, blah, blah. forums are good to disspell untrue rumors.
