I live in a condo, and have no access (association rules) to the roof or hanging anything outside the windows. I've searched the various forums here, but most talk about attic/roof mounted solutions.

While my 15 year old Curtis Mathes (Pioneer) receiver got all my stations fine with a 10 foot piece 20ga speaker wire, I can't get anything (but a ocuple of station I don't listen to) on the 1050.

I have tried the Terk nonpowered FM antenna and the FMedge powered FM antenna. the non-powered did nothing over the antenna you get free. The powered improved things, but only slightly (I can hear unlistenable static-ridden audio, rather than the absolute silence of before.)

Any suggestions (brand/model) for FM reception of a table top Fm antenna?

I suggest that you talk to the folks at CCRADIO.com or get one of their catalogs. I think they have an antenna or two that might help you.

I believe it is the very good 'selectivity' characteristic of the FM tuner on the Outlaw that is seemingly 'causing' this 'problem.'

My own experience is that often an old piece of 'whatever cassette-radio combo' would pull in all kinds of stations my 'hi-fi unit' wouldn't touch.

When I asked about it, I was told NOT to confuse sensitivity and selectivity. A good Hi-fi FM tuner is designed that it DOES NOT accept a station that would not pass 'quality' requirements. The designer has to be sure that 'just anything' doesn't show up.

I guess it would also be logical to ask BP if the stations he can't get SHOULD be received by a 'better' tuner designed to only accept - can I say - Hi-fi - reception? If those are good, strong stations etc. I have to say I am a bit wondering if all is OK with the 1050?
