I am upgrading to separates and want to know does the 7100 have any advantages over the Anthem PVA7. I can get a good deal on a new PVA7 at $950. Anyone using the 950 with an Anthem amp? Thank in advance for your input.

While I have tons of respect for anthem and this amp has received alot of praise, The 7100 for the short period its been available has garnered just as much. While the anthem is rated something like 125w/channel. One reveiwer while driving all channels found it to be more accurately 105w/channel and 140w/channel into 4 ohms. This seems to me to be for its relatively low price the manufacturer cut a corner on its power supply. Yet the manufacterer claims a 1.5kv power supply (interesting). By the way outlaws is 100w/channel and 165w/channel into 4 ohms.

Just heard the Anthem mentioned above running a pair of the New Def Tech 7001SC's..

Sorry but that thing is just not very nice and I would definitely tend to believe it's specs were inflated.

I lost respect for Anthem due to this. They are now in the same category as Adcom. Pricey and a waste of $$. Far better can be had for a few dollars less, or a few dollars more.
