There are two separate things that could be happening here.

The first is that your receiver and amplifier may be "out of time". Please follow these steps to get your trigger connection "in time".

1) With no trigger connection made and the Pioneer in stand-by mode, press the green stand-by button on the 7100 so that it is in the on position.

2) Plug the trigger cable into the receiver.

3) Plug the trigger cable into the 7100.

4) Test.

The other possibility is that the Pioneer receiver provides an inadequate level of output to power the 7100 on. However, this is less likely than the first cause.
