Help! I've read on a few posts people mentioning "The 7100". I must have missed something somewhere, but I don't know what the 7100 is. I even saw one post where Outlaw "hoped to ship the 7100 in the fall". Is this a new receiver or a new amp or something else altogether? I'm getting closer to buying and have wanted the 1050 for some time now, but I know the 1050 could use some modernizaton. If the 7100 is a new receiver I'm sure it could be the next great Outlaw product and I would be willing to wait for it, in spite of the 950's debut problems. I would appreciate any help on the subject.

Thanks

The 7100 is a new 7 channel power amp - coming along pretty soon. Less power than the 770 - but still enough for most mortals.

The 7100 is a new 7 channel amplifier that will be introduced shortly and can be mated with the 950 pre/pro (or any other pre-amp) or the 1050s pre-outs as well. It is a seperate amp. and is suspect to be in the 80-125 watt/channel range.

Go ahead with the 1050 purchase though and you'll be pleasantly surprised. I love mine!

Its amazing what you can do with an itty-bitty derringer.

Although some days I bring my Colt ‘Peacemaker’.

...And other days it’s my potato launcher.

Thanks for all the help so quickly. I might just wait and get the 950/7100 combo instead of the 1050. That would make a nice Christmas present to myself, don't you think?

I'm sure it would be great. It's probably going to be about 3x the cost, though. But that buys you a lot more than the 1050.

It would also be a great introduction to separates and probably the lowest priced set you're going to find.

If either is ever released.

Actually, I shouldn't say that. Their track record with amps is actually pretty good.

Anyone care to guess (more specifically) at the power ratings of this amp? I would say 100 W at 8 ohms and 150 at 4. Will it really be called the 7100 or is that just a project name?
