Thanks again for all the replies. I really like the sound of the Denon, so I think I am going to go with the 3 M2000 amps across the front channels. From everything that I have read from the above comments and from other M200 threads, I think I will be happy with this choice.

please post your impression when m200 installed. I am sitting on the fence with Denon 3805 waiting to pull the trigger on monos or 750. I like the idea of separate power supplies on the monos.

I used my Denon receiver with my Dunaudio 70s for awhile. The are rated at 4 Ohms but dip to 2 Ohms on occasion. Although the Denon did not shut down it got very hot and has no fan. Once I switched to M200s and used the Denon as a pre-pro, the sound was marked improved and the Denon cooled off. The M200s were a great buy and I will keep them a very long time. You will be pleased with your decision. Let us know how it goes. Good luck.

In my part of the world getting a Denon 3805 is about $400 more than the 990 was. So I went with the 990. But otherwise my choice would have been the Denon as a preamp with an Outlaw amp(s)..

Obviously Monos have there advantages. The only disadvantage I can see is having 7 of them may take more circuits than some people have wired. If you can afford the monos, go that way..

Besides, if one breaks, you can still listen to 5.1 or 6.1, with a combo amp you have nothing..

I got my 3805 for 726 inc frt from Ubid. I think maybe 2 or 3 monos might be a good start on a larger system.

Due to the stupid rules Denon has, if I purchase a Denon from the US I have no warranty...

Go figure.. I guess shipping them across the border breaks something that's GPS based..

Sounds like a case for the 990 to me!

you should have the denon looked at. it should not shut down a slightly over moderate listening levels. it sounds defective or broken to me...
