Does anyone have experience using the M200 internationally with 220v power? I will be moving between countries quite frequently with my new job in the Foreign Service. I currently use mostly tube gear, but am looking for reasonable bomb-proof amplification that can easily switch between 220 and 120V input without the need for voltage converters or internal rewiring. I can re-wire my Mesa Baron for 220v, but it requires me to get into the guts of the amp every time I move to a different country. I am also somewhat reticent to subject my prized tube gear to the gentle mercies of international movers and the power grids of places like Bolivia or Malawi.
It seems like the M200 might be a good solution for powering my Magnepan 1.6QRs. Does anyone have experience with the M200 driving Magnepan 1.6 QRs, and will switching between 120 and 220V power affect the performance of the amp in any way?
I already have a single M200 driving a Magnepan CC1 center channel, as well as an ICBM Magnepan Edition.
Thanks!
