Several folks have done this -
Mike Knapp at Home Theater Talk has 9 M200's for his seven speakers and his subwoofer,
ScottH and
AstorPiazzola have 7 of them each,
musiciseverything has 5.
There are a bunch of threads that you might like skimming through:
Newbie question 200 vs 770? ,
5x200s or a 755? ,
M200 or 7100 , and
M200\'s or 770 . That's a bunch of threads - the bottom line of them tends to be that monoblocks offer some potential benefits but they take up more space and require more power cabling. Outlaw's multichannel amps share a single power supply (typically with two transformers) between the amp channels, unlike the separate power supplies for each channel in a monoblock arrangement, but there's reportedly not a sonic difference between the 200's and the 755 or 770. If you are planning to use Klipsch speakers and are looking at the 7100, you would not be likely to need to additional power offered by M200's or the 770/755. Five M200's are $1124 plus shipping. Seven M200's are $1674.
So... why do we park on driveways and drive on parkways?
