I've got 6 200M monoblocks stacked and connected to a 950. When the 950 is off or not sending signal (end of a CD) there is a low level hiss that comes out of the speakers. This isn't 60 Hz humm. All components are plugged into the same outlet and Outlaw high quality interconnects are used. Any ideas on how to cure this?

I just looked at the forum and saw your message. Sorry, but I don't check the site often.

My experience with the M200s is that there is a low level of high frequency hiss if I am very close to the speaker when the pre-pro is turned off. It is not possible to hear it from more than 2 feet in a quiet room. Anything more than that may be a problem with RF or EMI from outside sources. I have been extremely happy with my M200s. I don't believe that I could improve my amps with my system. Please let us know what you find out. Perhaps you could try to isolate the amps and the speaker wires and see if the hiss goes away.

My 3 M-200's also exhibit a slight hiss, but it is only noticeable within about 2 inches of the tweeter. You have to put your ear right next to the speaker to hear it. Are you using very high sensitivity speakers?

Speaking from experience, if you have any electronic dimmers in your house check to see if they are the culprit. Check for hiss with the dimmers off and on. doesn't seem to matter what proximity the are to your amps. I had a little buzz that only appears when the kitchen dimmer was set at halfway. Only way around it is to replace the dimmer or listen to my stereo after dinner...
Let us know if anything pans out. Good for everyone to learn...
