I have a pair of M&K LCR 750's. They are 4 OHM speakers and have power handling of 200 watts. If I were to connect a pair of M200 (300 Watts @ 4OHMs) to these, would it damage them?

Short answer, nope!

The extra amps will be there as headroom. The only catch might be that they'll get louder faster than you expect and you'll have less usuable volume range. But otherwise, you'll be fine.

so basicly, the M&K's won't draw all 300 watts from the M200, correct? So it really wouldn't matter what the power rating on the speakers are as long as I don't crank the volume up too loud, driving the amps into distortion? Tell me if I'm even almost correct here.

Basically. In fact, the chances of damaging them decreases with additional power because the amp is less likely to hit its output limit and clip (producing nasty spikes and "junk" that is the most effective way to damage a speaker driver). With the M200's, you will basically not be able to drive the amp to distortion.

you may just blow up your speakers if you turn your system up too loud, a small price to pay for the added benefit of nice amps. just be sure to turn volume down at end of listening or have it auto turnon to a specific volume.

You can also put a small fuse in-line with the speaker wire to avoid overpowering the speakers. Frankly, I find it hard to believe that the extra power of the 200's would do that unless you did something obscenely stupid.

100 watts rms power over your specs for your speakers would blow them, and pretty quickly depending on media you are listening to.

im sure the peak power of the m200 is well over the threshold of which the mks can take.

however, if you listen that loudly youll damage your hearing anyway, so perhaps its best that your speakers blow...
