I have MB Quart "S" series speakers that can can handle from 70 to 130 watts @ 85 db. Will the 200's be too much for my speakers?

Excellent question. The 200's should work fine for your speakers, even though they are rated for more power than your speakers need or want. As a matter of fact, I just read a very good answer to a similar question at the end of this thread . As bestbang4thebuck explains there, an amplifier rated at a higher power output than your speakers' recommended range will provide better "headroom" for cleanly reproducing transient signals (moments when the input signal increases significantly) and will not run the risk of clipping (creating erratic and potentially damaging signal spikes because the amp's limit has been reached). Clipping is one of the best ways to tear up a speaker.

what gonk means is that yes you will be fine, but dont turn them up all the way. since they arent turned up all the way, they will have a lot of extra power when you need it to overcome the feedback pushed from your insensitive speakers.
