I am considering purchasing outlaw but i am undecided about which way to go. Should i get the 950/7100 combo or 5 M200 and the 950. So far i only have 4 cannel and one sub but will eventually add 2 more channel when budget permit. My question is will i get more benefit from 5 separate channels than with the 7100?

I think the concensus lately has been that there is essentially no difference between five Model 200's and one Model 755 (or seven 200's and one 770), as they all provide the same output. This is helped along by the fact that movies will generally not push all five channels to an extreme output level at once -- the one scenario where the separate power supplies of the 200's would be most beneficial.

If you are considering five 200's and the 950, you might want to look at the 950/755 combo. The 755 offers 200W per channel for five channels. If you plan to add two more channels later, you could add a pair of 200's later to drive your mains (which would let you turn the 755 off entirely for two-channel music listening).

Another thought -- what speakers are you using? If they are particularly efficient, you may not need any more power than the 100W per channel of the 7100.

Thanks for your answer. In fact i am using Pioneer SDF3K for main. They have a sensitivity of 89 DB so 200 watts might be well overkill and the 7100 would serve me right. I bought an Onkyo TXSR 800 about 1 month ago. althought it is a very nice A/V receiver. It does not offer the flexibility of separates. So now i am in the process of deciding if i will sell the onkyo in favor of Outlaw.
