Is it possible to use one of these for the 2 rear channels? Good/bad idea...
I was thinking I could get 4 one for each front channel and bi-amp 1 for the rears.
Any thoughts?

Not sure you want to do that given that the rear channels contain different content. i.e. they are not mono in 5.1, 6.1, etc.. only in the original Dolby Pro-Surround are they mono.

This would only work if you have the 950 set up for only one rear surround in the speaker setup menu. Otherwise, the rear surrounds get stereo information in modes like "stereo 7".

Thanks for the responses....decisions...hate them.

They need to make a 5100 for $699....for the people that see no purpose of 6.1/7.1 as of right now.

That's not a bad idea cburbs. Maybe it's already in the works-- who knows?

Well I am still considering the M200's as well as the 7100 or 755. The advantage of going the m200 route I can buy them 2 at a time and not have to drop over a $1000 at once since I don't have that right now.
Though I am still considering parasound amps.
