If it's just a cable box, then it probably does not have A/V outputs -- just the RF cable input and output. That can not be connected to the 1050. What you could do is either pass the cable signal through your VCR (which you may be doing already) and then hook the VCR's left/right audio and composite video outputs to the 1050, or see if your TV has left/right audio outputs and connect those to an input on the 1050.

I recommend that you go out and buy the advanced video pack (s-video) or the high def. pack (component video, if your tv supports this) for the xbox. Both of these packs come with an optical out so you can get DD 5.1. All you have to do is buy an optical toslink cable. This is the best way to get the most out of your xbox!

5.1 sound for sure. If you have an HDTV Ready TV then component is a notable improvement. If you don't have an HDTV ready TV then SVHS is probably enough quality video cable.

I have a PS2, 1050 and Mitsu WS55819...pretty nice game setup. I'd like to hook up a HTPC next.
