Does anybody have any experience using the 1050 as a pre-amp in front of a tube amp?

I'm specifically looking into the Antique Sound Labs Wave 8 monoblocks. I'm the curious type who likes the tube sound but doesn't have the tube bucks. These 8 watt monoblock amps retail for $119 with covers and detachable power cable. These sound like a great deal but with so few reviews out there it's hard to tell. Does anybody out there have experience with these amps?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I use a pair of waves in my Den system. I use a McCormack MID as my headphone/preamp. That feeds the waves which are biwired to a pair of Wharfedale 7.2 Anniversary speakers. I think it sounds pretty good and is plenty loud in the relatively small room it is in. The only bad thing I have heard about the waves is that the QC is not that great. One of mine doesn't sit quite level but for $119 I think they are a steal. Haven't tried the 1050 into them but I see no real problem with doing it.
