Hello everyone, I am a new member of the Forum and have been reading a lot of the topics here and must say I am impressed w/ the knowledge you members posses. When I first started working on my dedicated room in March 2004 I planned on buying sepearates but didn't. I've now made up my mind and I'm ready to buy an Outlaw amp. I want something more than sufficient for may room. I will be using my Yamaha HTR-5790 7.1 as a pre/pro. The room is 14'W X 24'D X 8'H. Speakers are B&W 602 S2 for the mains and surround backs,LCR6 for center and Phoenyx Gold dipole/bipoles for the surrounds. Center channel is rated 150 watts, sensitivity 89db. All others are rated 120 watts, sensitivity 90db. I'm running 14/4 wire. The room is heavily padded with fabrics like sound absorption, heavy draped windows and screen, 6 large reclining theater seats, and carpet. Which would you buy? Thanks

Well, the 7100 is no more, so you would have to go with the 7125. Unless of course you are buying used. If you have the money, I would just go with the 770. But if you like saving were you can and if you don't play your system real loud, then 7125 might be a better deal. Honestly, the differnce in SPL between the two would only be between 2 to 3 dB.

Thanks alot clo2016, you just saved me $450. I am going to order my 7125 tonight or tomorrow. I'll write back when I get it and install it. ALSO! Do you know were I can get a 3.5mm mono mini-plug so I can connect my receiver to the amp for triggering the on and off of the amp?

You can get the miniplug cables at the rat shack (Radioshack).
Cheers,

Hotrod2,
I would encourage you to buy the 770. It's not that much more. I have used a 125 watt x 5 Carver amp and recently bought two Outlaw 755 amps each at 200 watts x 5. There is a big difference. Also if your room is heavily padded, the extra headroom may help you out. As someone who has bought cheaper and then bought again in the past, I'd tell you to buy the 770 once and never worry about an amp again.

I first got a 7100 and a M200 (I needed eight channels since I wanted to power two outdoor speakers with my setup, so I use the M200 for the center channel). The M200 came with a trigger cable but the 7100 did not. I then upgraded to the 7125 and returned my 7100. The 7125 came with a trigger cable.

Hey fellow Outlaws, It's Hotrod2 and I purchased my amp about 2 hours ago. I was thinking all day at work about wich amp to go with and ordered the 770 on the way home from my cell phone. Doug917 described perfectly waht my conclusion was when I stepped out those work doors. Well, now all I have to do is wait patiently. Thanks for all the advice fellow Outlaws. Talk to you soon!

You made the right choice Hotrod. You won't regret having the extra power. Now you just have to tackle the Fedx guy and claim your prize. Congrats on the purchase, and let us know how your system sounds when you get er' hooked up.

You'll be pleased with the 770 as an addition to your Yamaha HT-5790, particulaily when driving all speakers.
