I am the proud owner of a new 950/770/LFM-1 combo. Lets just say after just a few hours of critical listening, if I knew the differences in sound quality between my Marantz receiver and this new Outlaw gear were going to be this dramatic, I would have changed out long ago. Simply exquisite sound even with my entry level Paradigm speakers. Hope to upgrade those too very soon.
I have wired in 3 new dedicated circuits for my HT: 15 amp circuit for 950, TV, DVD and LFM-1 ( all plugged into a Monster HT1100-surge/conditioner) 15 amp circuit for Infocus X1 projector ( Monster surge/conditioner ) 20 amp circuit for the 770
My question is should I purchase a surge protector only for my 770 or is a line conditioner recommended as well? I saw one thread suggesting a Tripp-Lite Ultracopy unit which is designed for 20 amp circuits. I believe this is a surge/conditioning unit. I know I have read elsewhere in the Outlaw forum some debate on whether line conditioning is necessary for a power amp like the 770. Thanks in advance for the help.

I have had a number of high-end audio dealers (who are motivated to sell me stuff after all) tell me that almost all power amps have so much line conditioning built into their power supplies (huge toroidal transformers for example, like our fab 770s) that line conditioning, even suge protectors, are a waste of money. That said, Monster will not honor a damage claim if you do not protect _ALL_ components with MonsterPower equipment. So its really a risk rather than audio decision IMHO.

I use a Furman PS-PRO II Power Conditioner/Sequencer with SMP "Series Mode Protection" and Lift"Linear Filtering Technology" with a 20 Amp capacity, I have my Denon 3805 Receiver, Outlaw 770, Zenith DVD pLayer, Philips Plasma with external E-Box and my Cablebox all pluged into this unit feeding off a 20 Amp circuit breaker, and all works like a charm.
